Lots of history as the trail follows the River South Tyne past Featherstone Castle and the remains of a WW2 POW Camp, then up onto the spectactular Lambley Viaduct before returning along the old railway of the Alston Line. Look out for old stations - the line didn't close until 1976, kept open long
